ENTECH-REM – Los Optimos

ENTECH-REM CANADA has been chosen as the technology of choice to build and operate a state of the art Advanced Conversion system to reduce waste garbage at Los Optimos in Barahona, Dominican Republic.

The Ecological aspect of this project will benefit by the use of one of the world's most modern Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) recycling and conversion systems which will be imported from Canada. The conversion process will provide continuous thermal energy and will produce electricity that will be exported to the local electrical grid offsetting Diesel generated electricity. This process will provide a sustainable solution to disposal of waste by eliminating the current practice of dumping into an ecologically fragile sea and/or burning in open air.

The proposed facility is designed to maximize recycling efforts by recovering all recycling materials and converting the remaining residual waste into clean renewable energy utilizing the ENTECH Wt GAS™ - Advanced Conversion Technology.

The new facility proposes to help attract economic stimulus to the area by providing local jobs during development and construction, operational jobs once the facility is completed and will help attract new businesses to the area.
